Ana Ibarra is participating in the production of Elektra in Metz

Spanish mezzo-soprano Ana Ibarra embodies Klytämnestra in the new production of Elektra at the Opéra-Théâtre de l’Eurométropole in Metz. Richard Strauss's opera is presented in a concert version with the powerful dramatic flair demanded by Hugo von Hofmannsthal's libretto.
In addition to Ana Ibarra in the role of the murdered queen, the cast includes soprano Elena Pankratova as Elektra, mezzo-soprano Hedvig Haugerud as Chrysothemis, baritone Kristian Benedikt as Ægisth, and baritone Birger Radde as Orest.
The musical direction will be led by Maestro David Reiland, who will conduct the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est.
The premiere will take place on Friday, November 7th at the Jean-Marie Rausch Arsenal in Metz, with a second performance on Sunday, November 9th.
