Alejandro Roy triumphs as Calaf at the Teatre Principal in Palma and performs the role again at the Prague Opera

After the premiere last Monday of the production of Turandot at the Teatre Principal in Palma, starring Alejandro Roy in the role of Calaf, the press has echoed the great vocal performance of the tenor from Gijón.
The newspaper Ara Balears highlights that: "As for Alejandro Roy's Calaf, he made an authentic display of singing, both in terms of volume and color, solidity and absolute mastery of the character's characteristics."
For its part, the magazine Ópera Actual points out the tenor's scenic qualities: "Alejandro Roy sang an implacable, brave and confident Calaf."
The newspaper Última Hora joins in, emphasizing Roy's powerful interpretation: "But the highlight was a Calaf performed with vigor, fiato and color by a capital Alejandro Roy"
Following the line of the other media, Impiccione Viaggiatore details more vocal qualities of the tenor: "He had, predictably, an overwhelming success which united the talented tenor of Gijon Alejandro Roy, Calaf with the male voice, well projected, authentic "tenor sword" with a flamboyant high note. Alejandro Roy, a consolidated Calaf performer who has already performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the National Opera in Prague, returns to this house this week to take on the role again.
Maestro Andrea Sanguineti will lead the Prague National Opera Orchestra, Choir and Ballet, together with the Prague Children's Philharmonic Choir in a production directed by Zuzana Gilhuus.
The performances will take place on November 3, 15 and 30 at the National Opera Theater in Prague.
