Tenor Alejandro Roy will take part in La edad de plata, a production presented at the Teatro de la Zarzuela. The performance is set within the context of the Spanish cultural flourishing of the first third of the 20th century and references key figures of the artistic creation of the era, in a dialogue between tradition and modernity.
The program includes Goyescas, a one-act, three-scene opera, an emblematic work by Enrique Granados that reflects the search for an essential Spanish identity through music and inspiration from the arts of the past. Alejandro sings the role of Fernando, César San Martín performs Paquito, Raquel Lojendio plays Rosario, and Mónica Redondo portrays Pepa. The cast also includes Mónica Conesa and Enrique Ferrer.
The program is completed with El retablo de Maese Pedro, featuring Gerardo Bullón, Pablo García-López, and Lidia Vinyes Curtis. The musical direction of this production is by Álvaro Albiach, while Paco López is responsible for the stage direction.
Alejandro Roy will be part of the cast for the opening performance on January 24 and will return to the stage on January 29 and 31, as well as on February 1.
