Alejandro Roy interviewed in El Debate: «When singing in Torre del Lago you feel the presence of Puccini»

On the occasion of Alejandro Roy's participation in the 70th Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, the newspaper El Debate has interviewed Roy, who stars in the opera Tosca performing the role of Mario Cavaradossi.
In the interview, the tenor detailed what it is like to work with Pier Luigi Pizzi, a famous stage director who, at 94 years old, has chosen the Spaniard to star in this production. This is the fourth time that Alejandro Roy participates in the Festival, something quite unusual among the invited artists, and especially in this year when the centenary of the composer's death is celebrated.
During the conversation he spoke about how important it is to know the fundamental instrument of a singer, his voice, the technique to take advantage of each of its characteristics, the duality between the personal stamp and obedience to the composer's writing and finally his meeting with the legendary Fedora Barbieri, who made him understand what his voice was like and where he should direct his repertoire

On the other hand, and precisely as a result of the premiere of Tosca, some media have echoed his impressive work as Cavaradossi. Thus, the newspaper Il Giornale highlights him among the cast:
"dal bel timbro brunito, il migliore fra i protagonisti also grazie ad una sentita «E Lucean (sic) le stelle»" (with a beautiful burnished timbre, the best among the main roles also thanks to a heartfelt 'E Lucean (sic) le stelle')
For its part, the media NoiTV places it among the most applauded of the performance:
