Alejandro Roy and Ángeles Blancas, ‘celebrating the future’ at the Teatro de la Zarzuela
January 2nd, 2025
Alejandro Roy and Ángeles Blancas take part in the Teatro de la Zarzuela's New Year's Concert.
Under the name Celebrating the future (Festejando el Porvenir), the Teatro de la Zarzuela wants to celebrate this special concert that opens 2025 with two soloists Ángeles Blancas and Alejandro Roy, both under the musical direction of Álvaro Albiach, together with the theatre's resident orchestra, the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, and also with the Coro Titular del Teatro de la Zarzuela, conducted by Antonio Fauró.
The programme is made up of pieces from well-known zarzuelas, such as Serrano's El trust de los tenorios, Soutullo y Vert's La leyenda del beso, and Chapí's La tempestad, together with fragments of more obscure compositions that the Teatro de la Zarzuela has recovered, such as María Rodrigo's La reina Amazona, and Magda Serra y Miracle's Las enredaderas. The concert will take place on Saturday 4 January at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
