Ángeles Blancas stars in some of the most important titles in the 24/25 season

Soprano Ángeles Blancas will be the star of some of the most outstanding titles of the 24/25 season.
She opens the opera season at the Gran Teatre del Liceu with her participation in a 20th century masterpiece, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, by the composer Dimitri Shostakovich, in which she will perform the leading role of Katerina Ismailova. The cast will include Alexei Botnarciuc, Daniel Kirch and Pavel Černoch, among others, and Josep Pons will be in charge of conducting the Liceu's resident orchestra and chorus.
She will then travel to Bilbao to take part in the Puccinian trilogy Il Trittico, which ABAO will programme in its entirety for the first time in its history. Ángeles performs the leading role of Giorgetta in the first of these titles, Il Tabarro. The work, musically directed by Pedro Halffter and with stage direction by Paco Azorín, will also feature the participation of singers such as Carlos Álvarez, Ana Ibarra and Marco Berti, among others.
Ángeles continues her season with a concert at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, at the dawn of 2025, entitled Festejando el porvenir, with tenor Alejandro Roy and musical direction by Álvaro Albiach.
She will also be present at other important venues throughout 2025, to be officially announced in the coming weeks.
