Maribel Ortega stars as Abigaille in the new production of Nabucco by Fundació Òpera Catalunya

Soprano Maribel Ortega takes on the role of Abigaille in the production of Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi, presented by Fundació Òpera Catalunya. Her participation in this project will bring her to different theaters across Catalonia in a series of performances scheduled between February and March 2025.
The musical direction is led by Sergi Roca Bru, while stage direction and costume design are handled by Carles Ortiz. The cast is completed by Luis Cansino and Manuel Mas alternating in the role of Nabucco, Vicenç Esteve and Nacho Guzmán as Ismaele, Alejandro Baliñas and Jeroboám Tejera as Zaccaria, and Carol García as Fenena. Accompanying the soloists are the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and the Cor Amics de l’Òpera de Sabadell.
Today, February 19, marks the premiere at the Teatre La Faràndula in Sabadell. Other performances in Sabadell will take place on February 21, 23, and 26. On February 28, the production will move to the Teatre-Auditori Sant Cugat. In March, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona will host performances on the 1st and 15th. Other cities, including Vic, Lleida, Manresa, Tarragona, Granollers, Reus, Girona, and Viladecans, will also host performances throughout March.
